


Stephen "Stevie" Aiello (April 30, 1983) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and producer who currently plays bass and keyboards for the band Thirty Seconds To Mars.
In 2014 he also started contributing with backing vocals during live shows.
Early Life
Stevie Aiello was born on April 30, 1983 in Cranston, Rhode Island. He studied at Cranston High School West and then attended Boston University and University of Rhode Island in Kingston. His family has Italian origins, as matter of fact, he wrote on his Twitter that his great-grandparents moved from Serrastretta to United States in the early 1900s.
Musical Career
He started playing music at the age of 13 with his friends Mike Matarese and Joseph Rouleau. They used to play in garages, basements and school auditoriums. Stevie wrote: "For 2 or 3 years, we played music as people do when they first begin playing in a band- for the pure love of a song, or a riff, or a melody..."
Monty Are I (1998-2011)
In 1998 he founded the band Monty Are I with his friends Andrew Borstein, Mike Matarese, Justin and Ryan Muir. The band was named after the Cranston High School West's band instructor, Arthur Montanaro, while the "Are I" portion of the name is referred to Rhode Island's postal abbreviation (RI). They were formerly called Monty, and before that they were Monty's Fan Club. Stevie was the lead singer of the band and played rhythm guitar, Andrew the keyboardist and did the backing vocals, Mike was the bassist while Justin played drums and Ryan was the backing vocalist and the lead guitar. They've been classified as an alternative rock band but they've been known in shows to all switch instruments and play a style of music they called "Action Rock". As matter of fact, Stevie also played drums during several shows.
In 2006 they signed for the label Stolen Transmission and in 2008 were upstreamed to The Island Def Jam Music Group until 2010. He released two albums with the major record label Island Records: "Wall Of People" and "Break Through The Silence" as frontman and composer of the band.
In 2012 Stevie started working for Razor & Tie Music Publishing as songwriter, producer and guitarist until January 2014.
Stevie was also sponsored by Ernie Ball.
Thirty Seconds To Mars (2013 - present)
At the beginning of 2013, Stevie moved to Los Angeles where he started working with the band Thirty Seconds To Mars and joined the "Love Lust Faith + Dreams Tour" playing bass, keyboards and doing backing vocals. He was a great support for the frontman Jared Leto who unfortunately got sick during several dates of the Russian Tour in March 2014. In that period, Jared and Stevie made a duet of the song "City of Angels" on stage in Ufa. In 2015 he also took part to the Jared Leto acoustic session in Rome, where he was the lead guitar and backing vocalist.
In 2017/2018 he worked with Leto on the new 30 Seconds To Mars album "America" in which he co-wrote "Dangerous Night", "Remedy", "Hail To The Victor"and "Walk on Water".

He also co-wrote the single "My Demons" performed by Starset that was on national music chart for weeks. In fact, the label Razor & Tie Music Publishing claimed: "Starset’s first single, “My Demons” is now in the Top 5 at Mainstream Rock Radio and has been on the Billboard chart for a record-setting 41 weeks. This marks the longest chart run of the year at the format and the longest chart climb to the Top 5 for any artist since the launch of the chart in 1981"
He played guitar for the band New Atlantic on June 22, 2007 in Detroit while he was touring with Monty Are I.
